The BioSemi FLAT Active electrode (11mm width, 17mm length, 4.5mm height) has been designed for all Body-surface applications. The flat shape makes it ideal for all EMG and ECG body surface measurements and also for EEG applications where the use of a headcap is less practical e.g.: sleep research. The gel cavity is designed to reduce motion artifacts. The electrode has a sintered Ag-AgCl electrode pallet (4mm in diameter), providing very low noise, low offset voltages and very stable DC performance. Standard, the FLAT electrode has a 150cm cable, but other cable lengths are available on request. The electrode is completely resistant to long term water and alcohol submergence enabling easy cleaning and disinfecting. The electrodes can be handled like any conventional electrode, application with collodion and ultra-sonic cleaning is allowed. The electrodes are numbered for easy channel recognition.

The AD-box has 8 inputs for TouchProof electrodes. When a higher number of TP electrodes is required, then an additional interface box is required. The Headbox provides 32 TP inputs and connects to the SCSI connectors on the top of the AD-box.

There are 2 methods of attaching the electrode to the skin: the use of an adhesive electrode gel (for example Nihon Kohden Elefix) or the use of a low cost disposable 2-sided adhesive disk, in which case you can use the electrode gel of your own choice. (The pictures below show how adhesive disks are used with Active electrodes).

Put disposable adhesive disk on Active electrode.
Apply electrode gel on pallet in center of adhesive disk.
Peel-off adhesive disk protection and stick electrode on the skin.
