How to install the USB interface for Windows 8 or Windows 10 ?

When your USB Receiver has Firmware 4.0 or newer, then Windows 10 does not need any driver to be installed for the USB Receiver
If your USB Receiver has Firmware 4.0 then there is a sticker on the bottom of the USB Receiver saying "Firmware 4.0"
Windows 10 can not detect a USB Receiver with a firmware version older than 4.0.

If your USB Receiver has a firmware version older than 4.0, then you first need to update the Receiver on a computer with Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 with working 32 bit BioSemi drivers or 64 bit BioSemi drivers installed.
After you have updated the Receiver to Firmware 4.0, it will be detected automatically on all Windows versions without any driver to be installed. (windows PnP native drivers will be installed automatically)

Unfortunately, the way Windows works is that if you have connected a USB receiver with a Firmware version lower than 4.0 to a Windows 10 computer, then this USB Receiver will no longer be detected correctly (also not after the USB receiver has been upgraded to Firmware 4.0). You will need to clean the registry with this tool and also update the Firmware of the USB Receiver. The regclean tool removes the BioSemi drivers and clears the registry information about the USB Receiver.

If you tried to connect a USB receiver with an 'old' firmware (lower than 4.0) to an operating system newer than Windows 7, then the USB receiver will not be detected correctly. In order to upgrade the receiver to firmware version 4.0, you can choose to ship the USB receiver to BioSemi, or reprogram it yourself:
Ship your USB receiver to BioSemi: - BioSemi will update the firmware to Version 4.0 and ship it back to you. (free of charge)
- Clean the registry of your new PC with the RegClean tool.
Reprogram the receiver yourself: - Connect the receiver to an old PC with XP, Vista or Windows 7.
- If needed, install the drivers (32 bit BioSemi drivers or 64 bit BioSemi drivers)
- When the Receiver is detected correctly, then update the firmware of the Receiver
- Clean the registry of your new PC with the RegClean tool.
